DSTAR aka Down Jones hails from Philadelphia in America. He began producing while running the electronic departments in two different radio stations.

He launched his first release in the late 90’s on ‘This is Jungle Sky Volume VII and with a couple of other releases under his belt, met with Mason and Trust on the music scene in Philly. They formed a trio and headed for the UK to give the Brits a taste of how they do things back home. It worked and the threesome ended up putting releases out on some of the scenes most eminent record labels like Metalheadz, Intasound, Eastside, Proper Talent, Barcode, Freak, and Human to name a few.

This success led to them forming a posse known as SWARM and then their own record label Gasm Recordings. Prominent tours across the world followed giving them a platform to showcase their new and ever-evolving production styles.

DStAR then took the decision to reveal his alter ego known as Down Jones storming the worlds of hip hop, trap, and dubstep with support and remix work from and for DZ, Flinch, Mt. Eden, Noah D., RUNDMT, ENDBOSS, Joker, Starkey, and more.

Now the DStAR is coming back to the forefront with lorry loads of original releases and remixes for the D & B Headz, and Down Jones pretty much catering for the rest.
